FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

BELOW, SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WE OFTEN GET ASKED. GOT A QUESTION OF YOUR OWN? DROP US A LINE.

How much do your buildings cost?

Since most of our buildings are custom made to clients’ individual needs, it’s hard to give a fixed price without talking through your requirements first. Contact us for a free no obligation site survey.

How long do the buildings take to construct?

Again, it depends! Anything from two or three days to several weeks depending on size and complexity. Also, please bear in mind that our ‘lead time’ varies according to our current workload. Contact us for an idea on timescales.

Do I need planning permission?

Some small or temporary outbuildings may be exempt under current localised permitted development but, in the main, yes you will … even if you are replacing an existing redundant building with one of the same or smaller footprint. Some agricultural buildings under 465 square metres can be ‘fast-tracked’ but all other large buildings will need full planning permission.

Are all your buildings CE marked?

Absolutely. All our buildings are designed in line with BS EN1090 with allowances for BS5502 on agricultural buildings. Since 2014 it has been a legal requirement for all structural steelwork to be CE marked. Accordingly, we are able to issue a Certificate of Conformity in line with the annual auditing requirements under CFA providing traceability of the steelwork all the way back to the raw material. You’re in safe hands!
